MBA Internship (Operations)
The role
We’re looking for an MBA intern to support CLCC across our operations who wants an immersive experience in a lean, high potential & very purpose-driven medical devices start-up. You will work at the intersection of data, research, science, and design to support the development of our Callavid® and Phlovid™ devices. We’re particularly interested in candidates who bring prior commercial experience within pharma or medical devices. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking and adaptability to support a range of activities, from high-level operational strategy to day-to-day planning of operational activities.
What you’ll do
- You will work closely with our Chief Product Officer and across cross-functional team members, including product managers, engineers, and researchers, to help drive product development strategy and execution. Contribute to specific projects that may include researching industry conferences for strategic opportunities, assisting with production planning, and identifying risks in daily operations
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in on product development strategy and roadmaps
- Develop and manage product roadmap, clearly articulating the business value to the product team and users
- Collaborate with product development, and research teams to ensure alignment between patient needs, business goals, and product functionality
- Support with grant funding applications
- Develop and implement risk assessment frameworks for product roadmap
- Create and monitor operational KPIs
- Manage day-to-day operational planning and associated risks
Who you are
- Enrolled in a top MBA program with a passion for women’s health (pre-MBA or post-MBA positions also considered)
- Prior commercial experience in the pharma or medical devices industry, ideally within operations or product management preferred
- Familiarity with medical device regulatory requirements and compliance standards is highly desirable
- Able to demonstrate an ability to quickly grasp the key drivers for a medical device start-up
- A catalyst for change: we like individuals who bring a unique perspective and can improve how we operate
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Must be comfortable with synthesizing large amounts of vast information from multiple sources without bias
- Adaptable and able to pivot quickly, comfortable working in an ambiguous, evolving environment where day-to-day activities may vary
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Familiarity with product management methodologies and tools is a plus
- Action-oriented: time is our scarcest asset and as such we need to balance planning with execution
- 2 days per week minimum commitment, with preference for at least 1 day in-person at our new labs/offices in London NW3
