Product Development Engineer Internship

Calla Lily Clinical Care Ltd is a women’s health company developing a new patented vaginal drug delivery device to overcome the shortcomings of current methods. We aim to improve the clinical benefits and convenience offered by vaginal drug delivery systems with a primary focus on delivery of progesterone for miscarriage prevention and luteal phase support during IVF. In this internship, you will be emersed in fast-paced start-up revolutionising vaginal drug delivery and diagnostic sample collection, gaining hands-on experience in design, product development, manufacturing, and business innovation.

 

We are recruiting to aid with the production of samples, mechanical testing, CAD, and manufacturing processes. This in an in-person position based at our office & labs space in South Hampstead.

Start date: As soon as possible

Contract: Full-time (min 40 hours/week)

Reporting: Ewa Radziwon – Product Development Manager

Duration: Starting with 6 months contract with possible extension (1 month probation period)

Stipend: £550 per full-time working week, payable monthly in arrears

Location: South Hampstead, London (4 days in-office, 1 day remote)

Confidentiality: During and after your internship, strict provisions as per NDA

Conditionality: Proof of right to work in the UK

About you:

(1) Must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Biomedical Engineering, or similar fields
(2) Experience with CAD (ideally Solidworks)
(3) Ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A passion for innovation in healthcare and drug delivery solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness for proactive learning and professional development in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
  • Appreciation for quality and regulatory requirements in line with ISO13485 is a plus

Primary Objective:

(1) Assisting in the production of making samples of our drug delivery device

  • Operating manual stations and simple machines
  • Contribute to the mechanical testing of product prototypes, ensuring functionality and design integrity
  • Manage communications with external partners including suppliers

(2) Developing CAD models and 3d printing

  • Supporting technical documentation needed of our Callavid product
  • Creating prototypes to support mechanical testing or adjustments for manufacturing processes

Secondary Objective:

(1) Support other members of the CLCC team where needed
