Thoughts from Attending GIANT Health 2024

Over the past two days, I attended the GIANT Health Event with Calla Lily Clinical Care. This conference, focused on NHS healthcare innovation and technology, was a deep dive into the future of healthcare.

A key theme that kept coming up was the importance of “doing good science.” This means not letting minorities or women—the other 51% of the population—get lost in the data noise. The good news is that we already have this “data noise,” and if we harness AI correctly, we can turn it into a powerful force for positive change.

The message was clear: nothing changes if nothing changes. The future of healthcare needs to be shaped by using a gender lens- men and women are biologically too different for it to be ignored.

For anyone interested, Invisible Women was a highly recommended read (I’ve just ordered my copy).
