Presenting at the Inclusivity in Women’s Health Tech Event

Congratulations to our colleague Dr Serena de Gelidi and our collaborators at UCL School Of Pharmacy Catherine Tuleu and Scheilly Tsilova on their well received presentation at the Inclusivity in Women’s Health Tech event held at the Royal College of Physicians.

We were delighted to share the results of our project “Supporting women needing vaginal progesterone: a non-menstrual challenge” – funded by a UCL Innovation & Enterprise grant as part of an EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) UK Research and Innovation award.

Besides the positive results and important progress made with our Callavid® device, it was fulfilling to share the broader impact of our collaboration:

  • Innovative translational research to address an important ‘unmet/neglected’ medicated needs within women’s health
  • Interdisciplinary (Pharmaceutical sciences/Biomechanical Engineering)
  • Inter-institutional (Academia/Industry)
  • Inter-generational (Senior and Junior scientists) STEM engagement
  • Personal female engagement into female focussed innovation, project led by women on both Calla Lily and UCL side
  • Enhancing the engagement of women in STEM projects with >60% of project team consisting of women

Thank you to Joyce Harper, Dr Nicky Keay, Bhavna Malkani, UCL Innovation & Enterprise, UCL Division of Medicine, UCL School Of Pharmacy, UCL EGA Institute for Women’s Health and EPSRC UK Research and Innovation for all the support.
